Escalante Visitor Center
Outdoor Exhibits & App Development
Utah
Nomad Studio led design and development efforts for the National Park Service, the Bureau of Land Management, and the US Forest Service to create outdoor exhibits and an interactive App that support the public’s ability to safely access the truly phenomenal natural and cultural resources on public lands in the Escalante region of Utah.
In 2018, the project won a media award from the National Association for Interpretation. In addition, the project has been hailed by agency leaders as a model for bringing together many concerns and working across groups including three federal agencies, several community and tribal groups, and two local counties to create beautiful and functional exhibits.
Exhibits and the App allow visitors to plan their own adventures, provide important real-time safety information, tell the rich story of the Escalante region, and encourage visitors to protect one of America’s last wild landscapes.
The visitor center unveiled the project with a press release and community celebration.
